In Charm's Image (Nalla) and Natalie attended their first "real" Endurance Ride at
Crowhassen County Park and had a great time! They rode in the Novice division which was
a 9.5+ mile ride. Nalla was full of go and came in 2nd place! This was a great first ride and
with a few detail fixes, this team could make it to a blue shortly! Photos are of the last two miles.

Charmed By Destiny and Natalie made it to the first show of the season, the NWSC Open
Show in North Branch, and did a great job. This was Wyatt's second show ever, so his first
class was a little more exciting than it needed to be, but he still picked up a third place ribbon!
He was clearly more comfortable in his second class and picked up the BLUE!

Rain Dance Ruby made it to the farm to begin her training for the 2011 Challenge of the
Unwanted Horse. She will have until mid-August to learn everything she can to compete in
the competition. This year's Challenge has Trainer's Blogs that can be updated whenever the
trainer's have time and can have as many pictures as space will allow. Ruby also has her own
page on Foster Farm's website, see it HERE.

Ciera and Baron made the most of their last show together showing in two classes and taking
home the blues in both! They showed in the Academy English Pleasure Walk and Trot and
Academy Equitation Walk and Trot at the Riders and Ribbons horse show. Their classes
were flawless, both showing off how hard they have worked this summer and proving they
have learned a lot in such a short time. Congratulations!

Baron, Holly and Natalie showed at their last open show for the year at the Northwest
Saddle Club Open Show in North Branch. Natalie showed Baron first in Open Saddle Seat
Pleasure and pulled off a third place ribbon. They showed back in the Open Saddle Seat
Equitation class and came out with a second place ribbon. It was nice to have some real
competition at this open show! Last it was Baron and Holly's turn and what a turn they had.
They showed in the Open Walk Trot class against 32 other horses! While they didn't come
out with a ribbon, they did make sure everyone knew how enjoyable Saddle Seat is.

Prancer and Natalie competed in the MN Hooved Animal Rescue Foundation's Challenge of
the Unwanted Horse. The team showed Hunt Seat, Western and Saddle Seat and came
home with a few ribbons, a win in the Vet/Farrier class and were voted "Best Groomed" by
the audience.

Prancer and Natalie headed to North Branch for the Northwest Saddle Club's Over The Hill
Open Show. Prancer showed in the Open Saddle Seat Pleasure and Open Saddle Seat
Equitation classes and won them both! This was Prancer's first show, so this was pretty
exciting. Prancer showed what she was all about and took home the blues. A HOT, but very
nice open show.

Ciera and Baron competed in the Mid-Summerfest Horse Show in Cannon Falls and had
their best show yet! They picked up the blues in the Novice Walt and Trot Equitation class
and the Academy Walk and Trot English Pleasure class, as well as a second and two thirds in
their other classes. Nalla and Natalie also made it to this show and showed in the Open
English Pleasure Novice Horse class, picking up a tough fourth place. They showed back to
win the Open English Pleasure Novice Horse Championship! Great show!

Holly and Baron attended the Lear Stables Camp Show and what a show they had. Holly
showed Baron in a full bridle for the first time and it made them look like quite a pair.  They
won the Walk and Trot Pleasure and the Walk and Trot Equitation classes. Great job Holly!

Holly and Baron ventured to North Branch for the Northwest Riders Youth Show and had
everyone looking and complementing. They showed in the Open Walk and Trot classes
against 15 western Quarter Horses. While they did well, Baron thought he should slow down
to a more "western" trot and while showing a Saddlebred in WSCA shows is always fun, it
doesn't always bring you a ribbon. Another great show for this strong pair!

Tanbark Calvacade of Roses horse show is one of the best shows in Minnesota and while
attendance was down, the show was just as enjoyable as ever. Baron and Ciera made the trip
and showed that being new to the show ring is not a problem when you're a good rider! They
took home a third in Academy Walk and Trot Equitation as well as a third in Academy Walk
and Trot Pleasure. A last minute decision brought Mya Lear-Tharaldson into the saddle to
show Baron in Walk and Trot Equitation 10 and Under for a nice fourth place ribbon and
they showed back in the championship for an ever better third place. This was quite
impressive since Mya had never ridden Baron before this show. Congratulations on a great
show! Photos of this show can be seen at TerryYoungPhoto.com.

The Summerfest Horse Show held in Cannon Falls, was successful for the Foster Farm
team. In Charm's Image took home an impressive fourth place in the always competitive
Open English Pleasure 18 & Older class and then the third place in the championship.
Charmed By Destiny took home the reserve in the Open English Pleasure Snaffle Bridle
class and showed back for the win in the same type of class.       Photos by Washburn Photography.

Baron, Holly and Ciera made it to the Riders & Ribbons horse show, bringing home many
proud moments and great ribbons too! Holly won her Academy Pleasure Walk and Trot
class and placed second in the Walk and Trot Equitation class for riders in their first show.
Ciera had just as an impressive show bringing home the blue in the Walk and Trot Pleasure
class for riders in their first show and placed third in the Academy Equitation Walk and Trot
class. A great show with some cute pictures too!

Prancer has arrived at the farm to get ready for the 2010 MN Hooved Animal's Challenge of
the Unwanted Horse, a.k.a. Trainer's Challenge. She is a pretty bay and white pinto who
seems to think pretty highly of herself.  Her training starts now, so watch for updates on the
Rescue's website.

In Charm's Image and Natalie made it down to the Spring Tune-Up show in Cannon Falls for
the first time out this year.  Nalla has been working toward pleasure horse classes and proved
she could do it showing well and placing second in her qualifier, then showing back in the
championship to the win.  Sunday was a fun day with many good classes and lots to be
proud of for new teams and new divisions.
